CO with some buds

Labor Day weekend has come to mean going to Colorado with my LeTourneau U buddies. This year was the first for LaPlata Peak in central CO. LaPlata is one of the legendary 14'ers that the state is known for. It was quite an enjoyable climb. We had 10 guys in total coming from all over the U.S. Some were already graduates of LetU and some are still trying to graduate.

We found some snow and had to have a good time. At first it looked like the slope was too great, but I found out that it was just fun to slide around in the snow.

------------------------------
We also found a JEEP Commander laying around (rented one, don't worry for those of you who know my history...) and had to test it out. It got a little muddy and maybe the bolts are a little looser now. It certainly made times more fun.

Feel free to drop me a line. I would really enjoy talking or hanging out if anyone stops by eastern Iowa (ha ha!). Bye.

Love that fresh mountain-top air. We did the "cheese" valley in Switzerland on motorbike Saturday (see my blog). The humidity made visibility pretty bad, so we only had faint glimpses of the alps.
Jonathan,
Looks like you had a great time on your hike - Dan and I did a flat, whopping 8 kilometers last Saturday from Vogelbach to Marzell and back. It was all my pregnant belly could handle! Only 4 weeks to go and hopefully I'll be running again soon after that! Pray for our BFA home CC meet this weekend!
Blessings!
